Fifth Grade Learning

Fifth graders in Mrs. Mowery’s class at King Elementary enjoyed a presentation from Lori Foresman-Kirpes from Polk County Preservation on March 12th .  Students learned about the three main habitats in Iowa as well as many of the animals that are native to Iowa.  This presentation was an introduction to an upcoming science unit about environments.  In this unit, students will learn about the variables that affect an environment.  This unit will end with a field trip to the Y Camp in Boone, Iowa to experience and explore the habitats of Iowa.
