Fifth Grade Promotion

June 4, 2013 marked the last day of the school year for students at King Elementary.  For the 40 fifth grade students, it marked the end of their elementary career.  During the promotion ceremony, parents and students heard a moving speech from Robert “Words” Taylor, founder of Poets Unleashed, watched a video of baby pictures and highlights of this school year and heard a musical performance of “Hero” and a Traditional African Drumming Song.

This group of fifth grade students will be graduating high school in the year 2020; a landmark that Mr. Taylor described as an opportunity for students to provide a “perfect vision” for our future.
