Red Ribbon Week 2013

King Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 28th.  Red Ribbon Week is a week dedicated to educating students of all ages about the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol.  Each day of the week was a special dress up day, including “Stay Strong Against Drugs” when students were able to dress like super heros.  Sergeant Lillie Miller from the Des Moines Police Department gave drug prevention presentations to each grade level on Wednesday, October 30th.  Sgt. Miller talked to the students about activities that are healthy choices.  Students also decorated their classroom doors with anti-drug sayings and signs for the week.
