East High will again be the site of the Jumpstart Back-to-School Health Fair, held this year on Saturday, July 26 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sponsored by the Polk County Health Department and Des Moines University, the event offers free physicals and other health services for students in grades K-12. Click the image for more details.
Mrs. Schwertley’s first grade class took on a last minute challenge to collect school supplies for the basic school in Run Away Bay, Jamaica. The Des Moines Public School district is once again sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program, with many sites providing free meals to all children 18 years of age or younger.
