Kindergarten students welcomed medical students from Des Moines University. The medical students taught the kindergarten students how to stay healthy and the tools doctors use to keep you healthy. The kindergarten students loved checking the doctors eyes and listening to their heart beats. See more pictures on Flickr!
Last week, the third grade classes harvested 218 pounds of apples, peppers, tomatoes (large and small, ripe and unripe), onions, tomatillos and eggplant, and 18 pumpkins (that weighed 280 pounds!) 498 pounds of produce coming from a school garden in one day is pretty amazing.
Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines like King may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. In order to be eligible, students must attend one of the 28 Title I schools in Des Moines and meet low income guidelines. To learn more and to register, click on the headline.
