Storyteller Visits

King Elementary welcomed storyteller Dan Wardell from Iowa Public Television on November 8, 2012.  Mr. Wardell spent the afternoon talking with a group of students that are enrolled in King’s 21 Century Community Learning Center.  Students had fun acting out sounds and characteristics of many animals that were described by a book read by Mr. Wardell.  The message he shared is that you can have fun and be active while reading a book.  Also, he asked students to take time to go outside, use their imaginations and do some fun physical activity. Mr. Wardell left a parting gift of a jump rope for each student.
