Exercising Your Character

Fourth and fifth grade students enjoyed a fun filled morning on May 7th at Hy-Vee Hall.  Students participated in Hy-Vee’s Exercising Your Character event.  The mission of Exercising Your Character is simple: Get kids moving by showing them that physical activity can be fun and eating healthy isn’t hard. The atmosphere of the two-hour program is electric, filled with music, dancing, aerobic exercise, and inspirational speeches from athletes, coaches, and other role models. Adult or child, it’s hard to stand still when thousands of footsteps and giggles fill the room. The message hits home—physical activity is fun—and we are a bit closer to our goal of a healthier Iowa!

This year’s event featured professional football players, college basketball coach and even an Olympic athlete.
