Physical Education
The past two weeks in Physical Education 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students have been playing volleyball. Students learned how to pass the volleyball and practiced those two ways with partners during class. Then, students got to play a modified game of volleyball called “Four Square Volleyball”. The following week, those same grade levels learned how to do the underhand serve and were able to put all those skills together to play mini games of volleyball against their classmates.

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students worked on volleyball a different way. These students really focused on two skills: volleying and striking. Students worked on these skills using balloons in class. They practiced volleying the balloons with different body parts, and counted how many times they could strike the balloon in a row without it touching the ground.
